В этом году один из старейших вузов Прииртышья – Омский государственный технический университет (ОмГТУ) - отмечает 70-летие с момента основания.

ОмГТУ был образован в годы Великой Отечественной войны как Омский машиностроительный институт. Затем вуз стал называться Политехническим институтом, а 1993 г. был преобразован в университет. Истоки замечательных традиций вуза на протяжении уже многих лет поддерживаются, сохраняются и преумножаются профессорско-педагогическим коллективом, студентами, аспирантами, слушателями, выпускниками ОмГТУ.

Сегодня можно с уверенностью говорить, что университет вырос в крупный и авторитетный учебно-научный центр, где сосредоточен богатый интеллектуальный потенциал, работает талантливый профессорско-преподавательский состав, реализуются перспективные исследовательские и просветительские проекты. За семь десятков лет вуз воспитал более 60 тысяч высококлассных кадров. Его история – это история развития и совершенствования одного из крупнейших высших учебных заведений и учебно-научно-инновационного комплекса сибирского региона. Судьба многих сибиряков связана с университетом, не одно поколение жителей области обучалось в стенах Политеха. ОмГТУ гордится своими выпускниками, среди которых – выдающиеся ученые, общественные деятели, руководители крупных производств, представители органов власти. Примечательно, что связь с Alma-Mater они не теряют и, благодаря  Ассоциации выпускников, созданной в 2008 году, сотрудничают с вузом в различных формах и сферах деятельности, содействуют выпускникам-молодым специалистам в трудоустройстве их после окончания вуза, информируют о возможностях профессионального роста и продвижения, способствуют налаживанию контактов с работодателями.

Большая роль в университете уделяется подготовке научных кадров высшей квалификации. Для обеспечения данной подготовки в ОмГТУ функционирует аспирантура по 61 специальности, 11 специализированных Советов по защите кандидатских и докторских диссертаций. В ОмГТУ работает более 800 преподавателей, 62% ППС имеет ученую степень или ученое звание, в том числе более 11 % - докторов наук и (или) профессоров. Сегодня университет включает 7 факультетов, 7 институтов и 3 филиала (в Сургуте, Нижневартовске и Нефтеюганске). Начиная с 2003 года ОмГТУ проводит обучение по программам магистратуры. Постоянно проводится работа по расширению круга программ магистерской подготовки.

В ноябре прошлого года была разработана Программа стратегического развития университета на 2012-2016 гг. ОмГТУ успешно представил свою программу и вошел в число победителей в Конкурсе программ стратегического развития вузов, объявленного Министерством образования и науки РФ, в котором участвовало около 250 вузов страны. Эта победа, обеспечившая ОмГТУ дополнительным финансированием в размере 300 миллионов рублей, вряд ли была бы возможна без развитой инновационной инфраструктуры, которая существует на сегодняшний день в нашем университете. В Программе сформулированы планы вуза и пути их выполения, реализация которых позволит университету подняться на качественно новый уровень. Уже в текущем году будут созданы новые научно-исследовательские центры, организованы новые малые инновационные предприятия, объем научно-исследовательских работ достигнет 130 миллионов рублей. В течение трех лет университет будет дополнительно получать из федерального бюджета по 100 миллионов рублей на реализацию своей программы стратегического развития, при этом вуз выделяет средства софинансирования почти в два раза большие.

Одним из важнейших направлений программы стратегического развития вуза является развитие инновационной образовательной среды. Образовательная среда - это живой организм, требующий постоянного мониторинга и прогнозирования основных трендов его развития. Переход на ГОСы третьего поколения требует не только обновления методической базы, но и интеграции технологий дистанционного обучения, создания объединенных электронных библиотечных баз и программ студенческой мобильности. Обеспечение участия студентов в работе конференций, семинаров, научных школ, в образовательных программах и научной деятельности предприятий, организаций и учреждений (в том числе вузов) как в России, так и за рубежом, закладывает основы инженерного менеджмента, подготовки специалистов, генерирующих не только технические, но и управленческие решения на национальном уровне с учетом лучших мировых практик.

This year Omsk State Technical University (OSTU) - one of the oldest educational institutes of Priirtyshje – celebrates the 70th anniversary from the year of the foundation.

OmSTU was established in the times of the World War II as Omsk Machine Building Institute. Then the educational institution was renamed as Polytechnical Institute and transformed to the University in 1993. The roots of the remarkable traditions of the University have already been supported, kept and increased by faculties, students, graduate students, learners and graduates of OmSTU for many years.

We can certainly say that the university develops into the large and competent educational-scientific center where the rich intellectual potential is concentrated, the talented faculty works, perspective research and educational projects are implemented.  During 70 years the educational institute brought up more than 60 thousands of skilled personnel. Its history is a history of development and improvement of one of the largest educational institutes, the educational and scientific and innovative complex of Siberian region. The destiny of many Siberians is connected with the university and more than one generation of inhabitants of the area was trained in Polytechnic University. OmSTU is proud of its graduates, among which are outstanding scientists, public figures, heads of large productions, representatives of authorities. It is remarkable that they keep in touch with Alma-Mater and, thanks to the Association of graduates created in 2008, cooperate with the educational institute in various forms and fields of activity, assist graduates, young specialists in employment after the graduation, inform about opportunities of professional growth and advance and promote adjustment of contacts with employers.

The big role at university is given to the preparation of skilled scientific personnel. For ensuring this preparation, there are the postgraduate study on 61 specialties, 11 specialized Councils for defending of master's and doctoral theses in OmSTU. There are more than 800 teachers work, 62% of faculties have a scientific degree or an academic rank, 11% among them are the Doctors of Science and (or) professors in OmSTU. The university includes 7 departments, 7 institutes and 3 branches (in Surgut, Nizhnevartovsk and Nefteyugansk). Since 2003 OmSTU trains according to magistracy programs. The number of the programs of master preparation is constantly extending.

The Program of the strategic development of the university for 2012-2016 was developed in last November. OmSTU successfully introduced the program and entered into the number of winners of the competition of programs of the strategic development of educational institutes declared by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, in which about 250 educational institutes of the country participated. This victory, which has provided OmSTU with additional financing at a rate of 300 million rubles, would be hardly possible without the developed innovative infrastructure which exists at our university today.

There are the plans of the educational institute and ways of the performance are formulated in the Program. The plans’ fulfillment will allow the university to rise by qualitatively new level.  The new research centers will already be created this year, the new small innovative enterprises are organized and the volume of research works will reach 130 million rubles. In the course of three years the university will receive from the federal budget 100 million rubles in addition every year on the implementation of the program of the strategic development. At the same time the educational institution allocates funds of joint financing almost twice more.

One of the most important directions of the program of the strategic development of educational institute is development of the innovative educational environment. The educational environment is the live organism demanding continuous monitoring and forecasting of the main trends of its development. Transition to the state exams of the third generation demands not only updates of the methodical base, but also the integration of technologies of distance learning, the creation of the integrated electronic library bases and programs of student's mobility. Ensuring participation of students in the work of conferences, seminars, schools of sciences, in educational programs and scientific activity of the enterprises, the organizations and establishments (including educational institutes) in Russia and abroad as well, lays the foundation for engineering management, the training of specialists generating not only technical, but also administrative decisions at national level taking into account the best world practices.
